With the slogan "Sound quality is not skinnable", Apollo is an audio player with strong focus on quality - its MP3 decoder is famously one of the most mathematically accurate ones, if not the most accurate.

Like with Foobar2000, this focus on quality above all reflects on a spartan but fast and uncluttered interface. Also a much beloved feature of Apollo was its minibar mode, shown below.

The functionalities are what one would expect from a well featured player: spectrum analyzers, visualizations, input plugins that add support to a variety of formats, and the interface itself is a playlist. It can also read ID3 tags, but can not edit them.

Development ended in 2007 but the web page can still be reached at the Internet Archive.
