Qualcomm PureVoice
PureVoice (also known as QCELP) is a voice codec developed by Qualcomm,
famous cell phone chipset manufacturer and developers of the Eudora e-mail
client.
It offers two compression settings: PureVoice (high quality - 13kbps) and
SmartRate (high compression - 8kbps). The encoding technology was used on
CDMA (which was also developed by Qualcomm).
Besides the standalone apps featured here, PureVoice encoding technology
was available as a QuickTime component and Eudora plugin.
