WavArc lossless compressor

WavArc is another abandoned lossless compressor. It was developed from 1994 to 1997 by Dennis Lee.

One unique feature of this compressor is that it can store several tracks in one file, which can lead to slightly improved compression. And the compression performance is quite decent for such an old codec.

There are both 16-bit (runs on an 8086) and 32-bit (requires a 80386) versions available in the package offered here.

The multimedia programmer Konstantin Shishkov (Kostya) did a quick analysis of this codec.

Compression performance in my limited test: 58,26%
